RAKcare is a pure critical illness policy and in the event of the insured person being diagnosed with any of the covered critical illnesses, the benefit will be paid upfront to the insured person.

As long as you continue to pay premiums, you are covered for this policy. The maximum age of coverage is 65 years.

Medical insurance reimburses you for medical expenses only. However RAKcare in the event of diagnosis of any of the covered critical illness, pays a lump sum amount that can be used for medical expenses, consultation, treatment etc.

No benefits are payable under the policy if the covered critical illness occurs within 120 days of the effective date of the policy.

To make a claim, you will need:

  • Copy of certificate of insurance
  • Medical report diagnosing critical illness
  • Copy of your passport (with residence visa page for expatriates) or National Identity Certificate (UAE Nationals only)
  • Any other documents that may be required to establish a critical illness

That’s great, and it doesn’t affect the policy. The lump sum benefit is paid upon diagnosis of the covered critical illness and then the policy ceases.

Any representative of the insured can file for claims. However, the claim would be paid to the person insured or their beneficiary.

A grace period of 31 days will be granted after the first missed premium. The policy will lapse if the premium is not paid during the grace period.
