Section 1: About the RAKBANK Travel Prepaid Card
1. What is the RAKBANK Travel Prepaid Card?
RAKBANK Travel Prepaid Card is a reloadable Prepaid Card designed for travellers and general purpose use. The Travel Prepaid Card comes with single and dual currency wallet variants with lowest FX rate available for any destination, any currency. The dual currency card offers the flexibility of loading funds in AED wallet and then move funds between the AED and USD wallets. You can reload your Travel Prepaid Card as many times as needed.
2. Where can I use my Travel Prepaid Card?
The Travel Prepaid Card can be used at over 36 million merchants that accept MasterCard Cards around the world. Customers can perform cash withdrawals, retail POS and online transactions through Travel Prepaid Card. This allows you an opportunity to use the cards as follows
- Traveling? Pack your RAKBANK Prepaid Card. It's so much safer and more convenient than carrying cash. And, when you get back you won't be stuck with a whole lot of foreign currency you can't exchange.
- Want to purchase online? Use your RAKBANK Travel Prepaid Card and be safer as you limit the maximum amount that can be spent on the Card.

Section 2: Applying for a RAKBANK Travel Prepaid Card
1. Am I eligible to apply for a RAKBANK Travel Prepaid Card?
Every person above the age of 18 years is eligible to apply for a RAKBANK Prepaid Card. If you are less than 18 years old, get your parent or guardian to apply on your behalf. No credit checks are necessary.
2. Is there a maximum age limit to apply for a RAKBANK Prepaid Card?
There is no maximum age limit to apply for or use a RAKBANK prepaid card.
3. Do I need to have a bank account to get a Prepaid Card?
You do not need to have a bank account to get a RAKBANK Prepaid Card.
4. How do I apply for the Travel Prepaid Card?

If you are an existing RAKBANK customer, you can also log in to Digital Banking to apply for the Travel Prepaid Card.
5. How can I receive my RAKBANK Prepaid Card?
If you are an existing bank customer with a RAKBANK Debit or Credit Card and applying online, you could request for the Card to be delivered to you by courier or you could decide to collect it from any RAKBANK Branch. However if you do not have any existing Cards with the Bank, you would need to visit any RAKBANK Branch along with a copy of your passport with valid UAE Residence/Visit Visa and an original photo ID to collect your Card.
6. What documents do I need to carry if I visit a Branch to apply for or collect my Travel Prepaid Card?
Please remember to carry a copy of your Passport with a valid UAE Residence/Visit Visa, and at least one of the following original photo Personal IDs with you when you visit a RAKBANK Branch to apply for or collect your Prepaid Card:
- Passport with valid UAE Residence/Visit Visa
- Emirates Identity Card
- UAE Driving Licence
- UAE Labour Card
- UAE Staff ID Card
- UAE Student ID Card
7. After I apply for the Card, how long will it take to receive the Card?
If you have chosen delivery by courier please allow 3 to 5 days for the Card to arrive. Alternatively, you could walk into any of our Branches and collect your Card immediately.
8. Is there a limit to the number of RAKBANK Travel Prepaid Cards that I can apply for?
You can have up to five Prepaid Cards active at any time.
9. Are there any charges to apply for a RAKBANK Travel Prepaid Card?

Section 3: Getting Started
1. What do I need to do before I can start using my Travel Prepaid Card?
Please follow the steps in the same order:
Activate your Card by sending an SMS from your mobile number registered with the Bank for your Prepaid Card to 2737 in the following format: ACT <Card Pack ID> For example, if your Card Pack ID is AED 10300000123, then send ACT AED10300000123
2. When will I receive my PIN?
You will not receive a PIN for your Prepaid Card. After you have loaded your Card, you can set-up your own preferred 4-digit PIN by simply sending a SMS to 2737 in the following format :
100 <your Card ID> <your selected PIN>
For example: 100 AED123456789 5555
After you send this SMS for setting your PIN, you will receive a confirmation from the Bank that your requested PIN has been properly set for your Card. Please memorise your PIN for future use. You will be asked to enter your PIN for ATM transactions and other places, as required.
Please note that the SMS for setting your PIN (as above) must be sent within the UAE from your mobile number that is registered with us for your RAKBANK Prepaid Card.
3. How can I change my PIN?
You can change your Prepaid Card PIN at any RAKBANK ATM/EDM.
4. What should I do if I have forgotten my PIN?
Your PIN is required to withdraw cash from an ATM only. Your PIN cannot be reissued after you have set it. To get a new PIN you need to request for a new Card and then set-up your preferred PIN. You will be able to transfer your available balance to your new Card.
5. What is my CardPack ID?
Your Card ID is the 14 digit alphanumeric value that is printed at the bottom on the front of your Card, and starts with AED.
6. How soon can I load my Card after I have received it?
You can start loading your RAKBANK Prepaid Card immediately after receiving it. However, you will have to activate your Card before using it by sending an SMS from your mobile number registered with the Bank for your Prepaid Card to 2737 in the following format: ACT <Card ID>
For example, if your Card ID is AED 10300000123, then send ACT AED10300000123
7. How soon can I use my Card after I have loaded it?
You can use your RAKBANK Prepaid Card immediately after you have successfully loaded it. However, if you have loaded your Prepaid Card at one of the partner exchange Houses (UAE Exchange, Al Ansari Exchange, Al Fardan Exchange, Sharaf Exchange, Redha Al-Ansari Exchange and Lulu International Exchange), please allow upto 24 hours before the loading takes effect on your Card balance
8. How can I register on the "Manage your Prepaid Card" portal?
You can register on the self-care portal by following the below mentioned steps:
Click on ‘Manage your Prepaid Card’ tab and select ‘Register’ button at the bottom of the page. Enter your Card Pack ID, Date of Birth and Mobile number registered with the bank. A 6-digit Passcode will be sent to your mobile number registered with the bank Enter the 6-digit Passcode on the next screen Create your preferred User ID and Password*A confirmation message will be displayed upon successful creation of username and password
*The password should be minimum 8 characters and must contain at least one upper case alphabet, one lower case alphabet, one number and one of the following special characters *, $, %, !
Once you have been registered, you will be able to view transaction details and check the balance of your Prepaid Card online
9. Can I change my password?
You can change your password on self-care portal by following the below mentioned steps:
- Click on Manage Your Prepaid Card tab and select ‘Forgot password? / Unlock User ID’ button
- Enter the User ID, a 6-digit passcode will be sent to your mobile number registered for Prepaid Cards
- Enter the 6-digit passcode and either choose the security question and answer or enter the Card ID
- You will then be able to select your new password
Section 4: Loading or Re-loading your money on your Travel Prepaid Card
1. How do I load my Travel Prepaid Card?
You can load your Travel Prepaid Card with cash through the following options:
Deposit cash in our Electronic Deposit Machines (EDMs) located at all RAKBANK branches. Make a payment at any of our partner Exchange Houses
If you have an existing RAKBANK Account or Credit Card, in addition to the above, you could also use any of the following channels for loading your Travel Prepaid Card by transferring from your Account or Credit Card:
Online Banking/ IVR service/ RAKBANK ATMs
2. What is the maximum balance permitted on the Travel Prepaid Card?
The maximum balance permitted on your Travel Prepaid Card is AED 50,000. This amount will be inclusive of balances on both the currency wallets on the Travel Prepaid Card. Cards with single wallet (AED) also can be loaded with AED 50,000
Section 5: Transferring funds between Wallets and between Cards
1. What is wallet-to-wallet transfer? How do I carry out a wallet-to-wallet transfer on my Card?
For dual currency wallet Travel prepaid cards, a wallet-to-wallet transfer is performed when you want to move funds from the AED wallet to the USD wallet or vice versa of the same Card. To perform a wallet-to-wallet transfer, simply send an SMS or log in to the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal. (please refer to the SMS format section in these FAQs on how to send a SMS for doing a wallet-to-wallet transfer)
2. What is the maximum limit for wallet-to-wallet transfer?
The Wallet-to-Wallet transfer can be done upto the balance available on the respective wallet.
3. What is the daily maximum limit for performing retail and cash transactions on my Travel Prepaid Card?
The maximum limit for carrying out retail transactions on your Travel Prepaid Card is AED 50,000 per day and you can withdraw cash up to AED 9,000 per day. This amount will be inclusive of transactions carried out on both the currency wallets on dual currency wallet card. Cards with single wallet can use the similar amount both from retail and cash perspective.
4. I am an existing Bling/Loaded Cardholder, can I transfer funds from the Bling/Loaded Prepaid Card to the Travel Prepaid Card?
No, funds cannot be transferred from Bling/Loaded Prepaid Card to the Travel Prepaid Card or vice-versa.
5. I have funds in both the AED & USD wallets on my Card – which wallet will be charged for transactions that I perform?
All AED transactions that you perform with your Travel Prepaid Card will be charged to your AED wallet, provided sufficient funds are available in that wallet. All non-AED transactions that you perform with your Travel Prepaid Card will be charged to your USD wallet, provided sufficient funds are available in that wallet.
6.If I have sufficient balance in both my wallets to honour a non AED/USD transaction, which wallet will be used
By default, all non AED transactions will be charged to the USD wallet, provided sufficient funds are available in that wallet. If the USD wallet does not have the required funds available, then such transaction will be declined.
Section 6: Managing your RAKBANK Travel Prepaid Card
1. Is balance enquiry possible for both AED and USD wallets on my Travel Prepaid Card?
Balance enquiry for both AED & USD currency can be made by sending an SMS to 2737 from the mobile number provided to the Bank in a pre-determined format or by logging in to the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal. (Please refer to the SMS format section in these FAQs on how to send a SMS for balance enquiry)
2. Please guide me on the steps involved in transferring funds through ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal.
After entering the Username (Card number) and Password on the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal, the balance in both wallets will be displayed for your Card. The Wallet-to-Wallet transfer tab in the left panel can be selected to carry out transfers within the same Card and the amount and currency will have to be entered to complete the transfer.
Similarly, the Card-to-Card transfer tab can be selected to carry out transfers between two Travel Prepaid Cards issued to the same customer. The amount and currency will have to be specified to complete the transfer.
3. What will be the exchange rate applicable for AED to USD wallet transfer?
Customers can verify the applicable exchange rate through ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal when you perform the wallet-to-wallet transfer. Customers can also enquire the applicable exchange rate by sending an SMS to 2737 in the pre-determined format. (Please refer to the SMS format section in these FAQs on how to send a SMS for exchange rate enquiry.

Section 1: About the RAKBANK Bayani Prepaid Card
1. What is the RAKBANK Bayani Prepaid Card?
The RAKBANK Bayani Prepaid Card is an addition to the existing suite of Prepaid Cards offered by RAKBANK. It is a reloadable Prepaid Card created for the Filipino nationals living in the UAE, and comes with dual currency wallets – AED & USD, on which you can load in the AED wallet and then move funds between the AED and USD wallets. The Bayani Card can be used at any ATM or merchant outlet globally that accepts MasterCard Cards and can also be used to shop online. You can reload your Bayani Card as many times as needed.
2. Is it a Credit / Debit Card?
The RAKBANK Bayani Prepaid Card is not a Credit or Debit Card. You can only spend up to the amount that you have loaded on your Card - so there is never anything you need to repay.
Unlike a Debit Card, the Bayani Card is not linked to any current or savings account with the Bank. Since you only spend the amount that you have loaded on your Bayani Card, you stay in complete control of your finances.
3. Where can I use my Bayani Card?
The Bayani Card can be used at over 36 million merchants that accept MasterCard Cards around the world. This Prepaid Card can also be used as a remittance Card, because with every Bayani Card you purchase, you get an Add-on Bayani Card, which can be sent to your family in Philippines. You can transfer funds to your Add-on Bayani Card for use by your family in Philippines to spend at any retail merchant or to withdraw Cash at any ATM which accepts MasterCard Cards.
4. How is the Bayani card different from the Bling/ Loaded Prepaid Cards?
The Bayani Card has two currency wallets (AED & USD) on the same Card. It allows movement of funds between the AED and USD wallets by simply sending an SMS or logging in to the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal. Two Bayani Cards will be issued with every application – a Main Card and an Add-on Card. The Main Card is meant for use in the UAE and the Add-on card is meant to be sent to your family in Philippines.
5. What is the remittance feature on the Bayani Card?
When the Add-on Card is sent to your family in Philippines, funds can be easily transferred from your Main Card to your Add-on Card, thereby substituting the remittance through an Exchange House. The Add-on Card will be able to receive the money instantly.

Section 2: Applying for a RAKBANK Bayani Prepaid Card
1. Why should I apply for a Bayani card?
The Bayani Card is a Prepaid Card created for Filipinos living in the UAE. It is a dual currency wallet card which can hold AED & USD currency. With two cards issued with every application – a Main Card and an Add-on Card, it is very easy to transfer funds to your loved ones in Philippines. Further, the Card has over 100 offers & discounts on purchases at many retail outlets all over the UAE. Out of the 100 offers there are over 30 offers that are Filipino specific at outlets frequented by Filipinos.
2. What are the benefits of the Add-on card?
The Add-on Card is meant to be sent to your family living in Philippines. Funds can be transferred to the Add-on Card from the Main Card and your family will be able to receive funds instantly for making purchases and cash withdrawal. ATM Cash withdrawals performed using the Add-on Card in Peso currency anywhere in Philippines will be free of cost.
The Add-on Card can also be loaded directly in AED currency. This provides flexibility, when your family member holding the Add-on Card is visiting you in the UAE, and need not carry cash around for local expenses.
3. How do I apply for the Bayani Prepaid Card?

4. How will my family get the Add-on card?
The Bayani welcome pack will consist of the Main Card and the Add-on Card. Upon receipt of the same, you can send the Add-on card to your family in Philippines.
Section 3: Getting Started
1. What do I need to do before I can start using my Bayani Prepaid Card?
Please follow the steps in the same order
- Activate your Main Card by sending an SMS from your mobile number registered with the Bank for your Prepaid Card to 2737 in the following format: ACT <Card ID>
For example, if your Card ID is AED 10300000123, then send ACT AED10300000123 - Load your Main Card in AED
- Set your PIN for your Main Card through SMS for use at ATMs and retail POS transactions (please refer to the SMS format section in these FAQs on how to send a SMS for setting your PIN)
- Move funds to the USD wallet on your Main Card
- Send the Add-on Card to your family back home in Philippines
- When they securely receive the Add-on Card, activate the Card by sending an SMS (please refer to the SMS format section in these FAQs on how to send a SMS to activate your Add-on Card)
- Transfer money from the USD wallet of your Main Card to that of your Add-on Card
- Set a PIN for the Add-on Card for use at ATMs and retail POS transactions and advise this PIN in a secure manner to your family in Philippines (please refer to the SMS format section in these FAQs on how to send a SMS for setting your PIN)
Since all Bayani Cards are Chip & PIN cards, you will require a PIN to use your Bayani Card for cash withdrawal at ATMs, and for retail purchases at merchant outlets.
2. How can I differentiate between the Main Card & Add-on Card?
The Main Card will carry the name “MY BAYANI CARD” and the Add-on card will have the name “PREPAID CARD” on it. Moreover, the welcome letter which you will get along with your Bayani Cards will clearly identify these cards separately, and will also guide you on the steps to be followed to ‘get started’ with both Cards.
3. How can I register on the "Manage your Prepaid Card" portal?
You can register on the self-care portal by following the below mentioned steps:

4. Should the Add-on Card necessarily be sent to Philippines? Will RAKBANK send the Card on customer behalf?
The Add-on Card is meant for use by your family in Philippines. Although this Card can be used globally, the Add-on cardholder will enjoy free ATM Cash withdrawal in Peso currency only in Philippines. The Add-on Card will therefore facilitate funds transfer to your family in Philippines at a very low cost.
Both the Main Card & Add-on Card will be sent to the customer applying for the Bayani Prepaid Card, and the customer will need to send the Add-on Card to the family in Philippines.

1. How do I load my Bayani Main Card?
You can load your Main Bayani Card with cash through the following options:
- Deposit cash in our Electronic Deposit Machines (EDMs) located at all RAKBANK branches.
- Make a payment at any of our partner Exchange Houses
If you have an existing RAKBANK Account or Credit Card, in addition to the above, you could also use any of the following channels for loading your Bayani Card by transfering from your Account or Credit Card:

2. Can the Add-on Card be reloaded by my family in Philippines?
The Add-on Card can be loaded directly in AED currency only. Alternatively, to fund your Add-on Card in USD, you will need to do a Card-to-Card transfer from the USD wallet of your Main Card.

To perform a wallet-to-wallet transfer, simply send a SMS or log in to the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal. 2. What is the maximum limit for wallet-to-wallet transfer?
The Wallet-to-Wallet transfer can be done upto the balance available on the respective wallet.
3. What is a Card-to-Card transfer?
The Card-to-Card transfer feature enables transfer of funds from the Main Card to the Add-on Card. It serves as an alternative to the remittance that you send to your family through an exchange house. When you send the Add-on Card to your family in Philippines, funds can be transferred instantly to your family by simply doing a Card-to-Card transfer in USD or AED, by sending a SMS or logging in to the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal. 4. What is the maximum limit for Card-to-Card transfer?
The Card-to-Card transfer between two Bayani Cards can be done upto AED 10,000 per day. Please note that the Card-to-Card transfer will be treated like a normal retail transaction, therefore performing a Card-to-Card transaction up to the maximum limit of AED 10,000 per day will not allow anymore retail transactions to be performed on that Card for that day.
5. What is the maximum limit for performing retail transactions on my Bayani Card?
The maximum limit for carrying out retail transactions on your Bayani Card is AED 10,000 per day. This amount will be inclusive of transactions carried out on both the currency wallets on your Bayani Card.
Section 6: Using your RAKBANK Bayani Prepaid card
1. Can I transfer funds between the AED and USD wallets (or vice-versa) within my Bayani Main card & Add-on card?
Yes, funds can be moved between AED & USD wallets within the same card on both the Main Card and the Add-on card, by sending a SMS or by logging in to the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal. Please note that no decimal values will be accepted.
2. Can the Add-on Cardholder carry out a wallet-to-wallet transfer within the card?
The wallet-to-wallet transfer can be performed on the Add-on card as well, and can be initiated by the Main Cardholder or Add-on Cardholder by logging in to the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal. Additionally, this can also be initiated through SMS, which can only be sent from the Main Cardholder’s mobile number provided to the Bank.
3. How do I send money to my Add-on Card?
You can send money to the Add-on Card by performing a Card-to-Card transfer or by loading the Add-on Card directly in AED currency. Similar to wallet-to-wallet transfer, Card-to-Card transfers can also be performed by sending a SMS or by logging in to the ‘Manage your Prepaid Card’ portal. The Card-to-Card transfers will be carried out instantly and the funds can be used by the recipient immediately. Please note that Card-to-Card transfers can be performed only within the same currency – i.e. funds can either be transferred from the AED wallet of one Card to the AED wallet of the other Card, or from the USD wallet of one Card to the USD wallet of the other Card. No decimal values will be accepted.
4. How do I transfer funds from the AED wallet of the Main card to USD wallet of the Add-on Card?
If you intend to transfer USD to the Add-on Card, you will have to first perform a wallet-to-wallet transfer from AED to USD on your Main card and then carry out a Card-to-Card transfer from the USD wallet of the Main Card to the USD wallet of the Add-on Card.
5. How do I transfer funds from Add-on card to the Main card?
Card-to-Card transfer can be done from the Add-on card to the Main card by sending a SMS or by logging in to the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal. 6. I want to withdraw PHP currency from the ATM in Philippines, will any charges apply?
The Add-on Card will not be charged for ATM cash withdrawal in Peso currency in Philippines. However, the Main Card will be charged for any ATM cash withdrawal anywhere in the world.
7. What is the maximum limit for ATM Cash Withdrawal on my Bayani Card?
The maximum limit for ATM Cash withdrawal on your Bayani Card is AED 1000 per day. This amount will be inclusive of ATM Cash withdrawals carried out on both the currency wallets on your Bayani Card.
8. I am an existing Bling/Loaded Cardholder, can I transfer funds from the Bling/Loaded Prepaid Card to the Bayani Card?
No, funds cannot be transferred from Bling/Loaded Prepaid Card to the Bayani Prepaid Card or vice-versa..
9. I have funds in my Bayani Card which I would like to transfer to another Bayani cardholder, is it possible?
You will be able to transfer funds only between the Bayani Cards issued under your name. This does not limit only between the Main Card and Add-on Card – if you have two Main Cards and two Add-on Cards, Card-to-Card transfer can be performed between any two Cards that you have.
10. I have funds in both the AED & USD wallets on my Card – which wallet will be charged for transactions that I perform?
All AED transactions that you perform with your Bayani Card will be charged to your AED wallet, provided sufficient funds are available in that wallet. All USD transactions that you perform with your Bayani Card will be charged to your USD wallet, provided sufficient funds are available in that wallet.
11. I have funds in both the AED & USD wallets on my Card – can I make a transaction for an amount that is more than the funds available in any one wallet, but which is covered by the total funds available in both wallets?
No. You will be required to have sufficient balance in the AED wallet, if the transaction is performed in AED currency and sufficient funds in the USD wallet if the transaction is performed in any currency other than AED. If the respective currency wallet does not have the required funds for the transaction, such transaction would be declined.
12. What happens, if I have funds only in the USD wallet while performing a local currency (AED) transaction?
Such transaction would be declined. You will need to have sufficient funds in the AED wallet to perform a successful transaction in AED currency.
13. If I have sufficient balance in both my wallets to honour a non AED/USD transaction, which wallet will be used?
By default, all non AED transactions will be charged to the USD wallet, provided sufficient funds are available in that wallet. If the USD wallet does not have the required funds available, then such transaction will be declined.
Section 7: Managing your RAKBANK Bayani Prepaid Card
1. Is balance enquiry possible for both AED and USD wallets on my Bayani Prepaid Card?
Balance enquiry for both AED & USD currency can be made by sending an SMS to 2737 from the mobile number provided to the Bank in a pre-determined format or by logging in to the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal. (please refer to the SMS format section in these FAQs on how to send a SMS for balance enquiry)
2. Can the Add-on Cardholder check the available balance?
A ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal access is provided on successful activation of the Main Card and Add-on Card separately. The Main Cardholder can share the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal login details of the Add-on Card with the Add-on Cardholder for checking the available balance and transactions.
3. Please guide me on the steps involved in transferring funds through ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal.
After entering the Username (Card number) and Password on the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal, the balance in both wallets will be displayed for your Card. The Wallet-to-Wallet transfer tab in the left panel can be selected to carry out transfers within the same Card and the amount and currency will have to be entered to complete the transfer.
Similarly, the Card-to-Card transfer tab can be selected to carry out transfers between two Bayani Cards issued to the same customer. The amount and currency will have to be specified to complete the transfer.
4. What will be the exchange rate applicable for AED to USD wallet transfer?
Customers can verify the applicable exchange rate through ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal when you perform the wallet-to-wallet transfer. Customers can also enquire the applicable exchange rate by sending an SMS to 2737 in the pre-determined format. (please refer to the SMS format section in these FAQs on how to send a SMS for exchange rate enquiry)
5. I have lost my Main/Add-on Card, how can I request for a replacement Card?
Card-to-Card transfer can be done from the Add-on card to the Main card by sending a SMS or by logging in to the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal. Only the Main cardholder can initiate such transfer through SMS as the mobile number registered will be that of the Main cardholder. However, the Add-on card holder will be able to use the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal to do the transfer.

2. Is it a Credit / Debit Card?
The RAKBANK Prepaid Card is not a Credit or Debit Card. You can only spend up to the amount that you have loaded on your Card - so there is never anything you need to repay.
3. Is the RAKBANK Prepaid Card a gift Card?
The RAKBANK Prepaid Card is more than just a gift card. Whilst it would make a great gift, however unlike a gift card the RAKBANK Prepaid Card can be reloaded and used any number of times. If used as a gift card, we recommend you inform the recipient of the reloadable feature of the Card. The Card applicant continues to be responsible for appropriate use of the Prepaid Card.

Section 2: Applying for RAKBANK Prepaid Card
1. Am I eligible to apply for a RAKBANK Prepaid Card?
Every person above the age of 18 years is eligible to apply for a RAKBANK Prepaid Card. If you are less than 18 years old, get your parent or guardian to apply on your behalf. No credit checks are necessary.
2. Is there a maximum age limit to apply for a RAKBANK Prepaid Card?
There is no maximum age limit to apply for or use a RAKBANK prepaid card.
3. Do I need to have a bank account to get a Prepaid Card?
You do not need to have a bank account to get a RAKBANK Prepaid Card.
4. How do I apply for a RAKBANK Prepaid Card?
The easiest way to apply for a Prepaid Card is by completing the online application form. You can also visit any of our Branches to apply and receive your RAKBANK Prepaid Card.
5. How can I receive my RAKBANK Prepaid Card?
If you are an existing bank customer with a RAKBANK Debit or Credit Card and applying online, you could request for the Card to be delivered to you by courier or you could decide to collect it from any RAKBANK Branch. However if you do not have any existing Cards with the Bank, you would need to visit any RAKBANK Branch along with a copy of your passport with valid UAE Residence/Visit Visa and an original photo ID to collect your Card.
6. What documents do I need to carry if I visit a Branch to apply for or collect my Prepaid Card?
Please remember to carry a copy of your Passport with a valid UAE Residence/Visit Visa, and atleast one of the following original photo Personal IDs with you when you visit a RAKBANK Branch to apply for or collect your Prepaid Card :
- Passport with valid UAE Residence/Visit Visa
- Emirates Identity Card
- UAE Driving Licence
- UAE Labour Card
- UAE Staff ID Card
- UAE Student ID Card
7. After I apply for the Card, how long will it take to receive the Card?
If you have chosen delivery by courier please allow 3 to 5 days for the Card to arrive. Alternatively, you could walk into any of our Branches and collect your Card immediately.
8. Can I get a Supplementary Card for my RAKBANK Prepaid Card ?
Prepaid Cards do not come with Supplementary Cards. However, you could have up to five RAKBANK Prepaid Cards at any time, and a separate Card can be issued to each member of your family.
9. Is there a limit to the number of RAKBANK Prepaid Cards that I can apply for ?
You can have up to five Prepaid Cards active at any time.
10. Are there any charges to apply for a RAKBANK Prepaid Card ?

11. Can I give the RAKBANK Prepaid Card to my child who is a minor ?
The minimum age to apply for a RAKBANK Prepaid Card is 18 years. However you may apply on behalf of your child who would use the Card under your responsibility.
Section 3: Getting Started
1. What are the first things that I should do after receiving my RAKBANK Prepaid Card?
The first thing that you should do is to sign on the back of the Card, to ensure that it cannot be misused.
After this, you will have to activate your Card by simply sending an SMS from your mobile number registered with the Bank for your Prepaid Card to 2737 in the following format: ACT <Card ID>
For example, if your Card ID is AED 10300000123, then send ACT AED10300000123
Upon activation of your Prepaid Card, you can load your Card and you’re ready to go.
2. How can I activate my Card?
You can activate your Prepaid Card by simply sending an SMS from your mobile number registered with the Bank for your Prepaid Card to 2737 in the following format: ACT <Card ID>
For example, if your Card ID is AED 10300000123, then send ACT AED10300000123
3. When will I receive my PIN?
You will not receive a PIN for your Prepaid Card. After you have loaded your Card, you can set-up your own preferred 4-digit PIN by simply sending a SMS to 2737 in the following format :
100 <your Card ID> <your selected PIN>
for example: 100 AED123456789 5555
After you send this SMS for setting your PIN, you will receive a confirmation from the Bank that your requested PIN has been properly set for your Card. Please memorise your PIN for future use. You will be asked to enter your PIN for ATM transactions and other places, as required.
Please note that the SMS for setting your PIN (as above) must be sent within the UAE from your mobile number that is registered with us for your RAKBANK Prepaid Card.
4. How can I change my PIN?
You can change your Prepaid Card PIN at any RAKBANK ATM/EDM.
5. What should I do if I have forgotten my PIN?
Your PIN is required to withdraw cash from an ATM only. Your PIN cannot be reissued after you have set it. To get a new PIN you need to request for a new Card and then set-up your preferred PIN. You will be able to transfer your available balance to your new Card.
6. What is my Card ID?
Your Card ID is the 14 digit alphanumeric value that is printed at the bottom on the front of your Card, and starts with AED.
7. How soon can I load my Card after I have received it ?
You can start loading your RAKBANK Prepaid Card immediately after receiving it. However, you will have to activate your Card before using it by sending an SMS from your mobile number registered with the Bank for your Prepaid Card to 2737 in the following format: ACT <Card ID>
For example, if your Card ID is AED 10300000123, then send ACT AED10300000123
8. How soon can I use my Card after I have loaded it ?
You can use your RAKBANK Prepaid Card immediately after you have successfully loaded it. However, if you have loaded your Prepaid Card at one of the partner exchange Houses (UAE Exchange, Al Ansari Exchange, Al Fardan Exchange, Sharaf Exchange, Redha Al-Ansari Exchange and Lulu International Exchange), please allow upto 24 hours before the loading takes effect on your Card balance.
Section 4: Loading or Reloading money on your Prepaid Card
1. How can I load and reload my RAKBANK Prepaid Card?
To load and reload your RAKBANK Prepaid Card, you can use any of the following options:
- Deposit cash in our Electronic Deposit Machines (EDMs) located at all RAKBANK branches.
- Make a payment at any of our partner Exchange Houses
If you have an existing RAKBANK Account or Credit Card, in addition to the above, you could also use any of the following channels for loading your Prepaid Card by transfering from your Account or Credit Card:
- Online Banking
- IVR service
- RAKBANK ATMs
2. How do I to load my RAKBANK Prepaid Card through Online Banking?
When you login to RAKBANK Online Banking, you need to click on ‘Pay Bills’ and use the ‘Add Payee’ option to add your Prepaid Card as a Payee. Once you have done this you can load your Prepaid Card anytime by selecting your card and clicking on ‘Make Payment’.
3. If I reload my card at an exchange house how soon can I use my Prepaid Card?
Please allow upto 24 hours for an exchange house re-load to be credited to your Prepaid Card. You can confirm that your Prepaid Card is successfully reloaded by doing a balance enquiry through SMS or through the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal.

1. Can I spend online?
Get surfing. Your RAKBANK Prepaid Card is accepted online - and you can even limit the maximum amount available on the Card for use. However, we do recommend you follow the usual precautions for online payments
2. Can I withdraw cash?
You can withdraw cash from any ATM that accepts MasterCard Cards. You will of course need your PIN for any ATM transactions.
3. Can I use my RAKBANK Prepaid Card whilst traveling?
Your RAKBANK Prepaid Card is valid worldwide at any merchant that accepts MasterCard Cards.
4. Which currency will my Card be debited in if I use my RAKBANK Prepaid Card in a foreign country?
The money held in your RAKBANK Prepaid Card is in UAE Dirhams (AED). All non-AED transactions will be converted at the prevailing exchange rate.
5. Is there a limit on how much I can spend on my RAKBANK Prepaid Card?
There is no limit on the number of transactions you can do in a day or week or month. However daily limits are applicable for the maximum amount for which you can use your RAKBANK Prepaid Card in one day, and for cash withdrawals. 6. When will my RAKBANK Prepaid Card expire?
The expiry date of your Card is printed on the front of your Card.

Yes. When you use your RAKBANK Prepaid Card to spend or withdraw cash at ATMs, your Prepaid Card will be charged immediately, along with any applicable fees or charges.
12. What happens if I don't use the Card?
We recommend you use your Card regularly. If the Card is not used for 6 consecutive months a monthly inactivity fee will apply after the 6th month. Cards with a nil balance and with no activity for 6 consecutive months may be automatically closed by the Bank.

Section 6: Managing your RAKBANK Prepaid Card
1. Where can I see my transaction details ?
Just go online and register for the Manage your Prepaid Card online facility.
2. How can I check my available balance on my Prepaid Card?
You can check the available balance on your Prepaid Card by any of the following methods:
By logging on to the Manage your Prepaid Card online facility on the Prepaid Card section.
Sending an SMS to 2737 in the following format: BAL
3. How can I register on the ‘Manage Your Prepaid Card’ portal ?
You can register on the self-care portal by following the below mentioned steps:
- Click on ‘Manage your Prepaid Card’ tab and select ‘Register’ button at the bottom of the page
- Enter your Card ID, Date of Birth and Mobile number registered with the bank
- A 6-digit Passcode will be sent to your mobile number registered with the bank
- Enter the 6-digit Passcode on the next screen
- Create your preferred User ID and Password*
- A confirmation message will be displayed upon successful creation of username and password
* The password should be minimum 8 characters and must contain at least one upper case alphabet, one lower case alphabet, one number and one of the following special characters *, $, %, !
Once you have been registered, you will be able to view transaction details and check the balance of your Prepaid Card online.
4. Can I change my password?
You can change your password on self-care portal by following the below mentioned steps:
- Click on Manage Your Prepaid Card tab and select ‘Forgot password? / Unlock User ID’ button
- Enter the User ID
- A 6-digit passcode will be sent to your mobile number registered for Prepaid Cards
- Enter the 6-digit passcode and either choose the security question and answer or enter the Card ID
- You will then be able to select your new password
- You will then be able to select your new password
5. Will I receive monthly statements for my RAKBANK Prepaid Card ?
You will not receive any statements for your Prepaid Card. Just visit Manage your Prepaid Card section to view transaction details and check the balance of your Prepaid Card online.
6. What should I do if my RAKBANK Prepaid Card is damaged?
You will need to get a new Card. Don't worry, we can transfer the money from your damaged Card to your new Card. Just walk into any of our Branches to request for a replacement Card.
7. What should I do if my Card is lost or stolen?
Don't waste a moment. Call us immediately on 04-213 00 00. We will block your Card immediately to stop any unauthorized use. For a replacement Card just walk into any of our Branches and we will issue you a new Card. Your unused balance, if any, can be transferred to your new Card.
8. If I no longer want to use my Card, what should I do ?
9. If I no longer want to use my Card, how can I get the unused balance back?
You can withdraw your unused funds through an ATM (minimum AED 100/-) or walk into any of our Branches to get a refund.
10. How can I get my name printed on my Card?
To have your name printed on your Prepaid Card you need to return your existing Card at any of our Branches and request for a personalised Card in your name. We will have your new personalised Card delivered to you in 3 to 5 working days.
11. Can I have someone else's name printed on the Card?
Only the Card applicant's name can be requested to be printed on the Card.

It’s also the ideal solution to load your children’s pocket money or to pay your household expenses. Each Card can be loaded with up to AED 50,000.

Your RAKBANK Travel Prepaid Card allows you to track all your spends through ‘Manage your Prepaid Card’ portal, so you know exactly how much you spent, and on what, making it easy to budget for your holiday and to claim business travel expenses.
SMS Services
The following SMS services are available for your Travel Prepaid Cards. All SMSs must be sent within the UAE from your mobile number registered with the bank to 2737. Please note your Card ID comprises of 14 characters starting with ‘AED’ printed at the bottom of your Prepaid Card.
