3D Secure

3D Secure is an additional level of authentication on your RAKBANK and Islamic Banking Credit or Debit Cards, when using it for online transactions at 3D Secure enabled merchant websites which can be identified by the ‘MasterCard SecureCode’ and ‘Verified by Visa’ logos on the merchant checkout page where the card number is entered.

We believe in making banking not only more secure, but also easier and simpler – all that you will require to complete online transactions is a 6-digit OTP, which has a validity of 10 minutes, enough time to complete your payment for the purchase you have made online. Even if your Card details are compromised, no other person can complete the online transaction as the OTP will be sent only to your contact details (mobile number or email id) registered with the Bank.

All that you need to ensure is that your contact details, such as mobile number and email id are updated with the Bank, so that you are able to receive the OTP to complete online transactions securely. It is recommended that you also update the contact details of your Supplementary Cardholder (if any), so that he or she can receive the OTP to complete online transactions when using the Supplementary Card².

In the absence of contact details of the Supplementary Cardholder, the OTP for online transactions performed using a Supplementary Card will be sent to the available contact details of the Primary Cardholder.
